THE KING OF GOOD TIMES

No am not referring to the famous alcohol brand here. ;) In fact, am just borrowing its tagline to explain the amazing day i had today.

Well they say great things happen when u least expect them to. Today was definitely proof. With an unexpected bus breakdown in the morning bringing about an unexpected reunion, things seemed to be heading off to a great start.

The evening was amazing as well. Amazing fun in the bus and before anyone could realise, we were all getting down near SRI KESHAV CHATS, senior S treating us for getting placed in a company that TOUCHES LIVES. ;)

And what a time we had there. After sending down about 8 plates of pani puri and about 7 plates of grilled cheese sandwich between the 8 of us, we finally decided to call it a day. A swift auto ride later, i was at my stop, ready with my bike for my ride back home.

On the whole, a day i would definitely relish. Not only for the fun we had but because we managed to keep our promise of all of us going out together(well amazing because at the start of the year, we thought it was definitely impossible, considering junior S's strict rules at home) but as i said, everything sort of fell into place and before we knew it, we were having the time of our life.

Well, i've still got the smile on my face. And as Ranchoddas Shamaldas Chanchad, a.k.a. Phunsuku Wangudu said in the biggest blockbuster of 2010,
ALL IZZ WELL

SAVE THE TIGER

How would you feel if just 1411 humans were left on this planet.

Sad isn't it.

Its almost the end of the human race. well, we are fortunate it isn't us.

SAVE THE TIGERS. Spread the message.

P.S.

AIRCEL is doing a great job by rasing awareness among us on the number of tigers left in india. here is another site where you can contribute and do your bit to save this magnificent beast.

Do your bit, save the tiger.

adios...

my 2 weeks that weren't!!!!!!!

Omg, the past two weeks have been hell for me. Having missed a whole month of classes because of my matches, i ended up landing straight for my cycle tests. With no books or class notes to study from, i was left with pretty much very little to do. A bout of food poisoning made me miss my first exam, and with that went my chances of getting the maths textbook i needed so much for the next exam.

With no book at al, i ended up doing really badly in my math exam. I did get the rest of my books that day though but time was definitely not on my side. I ended up sleeping through a major portion of my study time for the remaining exams. One week later, my results arrived. And as expexted, i've got really poor grades. And as if all this wasnt enough, i've got a couple of staff members who rarely cooperate.

Things could have been worse had my match on monday not been postponed. thank goodness, cos i had an exam on monday and if i had missed it, my grades would have gotten worse.

Hoping that things in college would change for good. anyways, before i go, here's my sms pick of the week:

Never worry about the delay of your success compared to others.
Because construction of a pyramid takes more time than an ordinary building.

Wishing everyone the best of luck,

adios!!!!

Sights and sounds of Mumbai

For the first time this academic year, i felt i was truly in great cricketing form, not because i was getting runs on the field but because i was staying away from college cos of my matches. This new year saw me travel left, right and centre. So after a successful tour of kerala, there i was on the Kingfisher flight to Mumbai as part of the SRM UNIVERSITY CRICKET TEAM. So two and half hours later, there we were on the bandra worli sea link, and believe me, it definitely was breathtaking.

As we travelled across the city, i realised how chennai and mumbai were generations apart. Malls, rolls royce and ducati showrooms, multiplexes, mumbai had it all. We were put up in marine drive and boy o boy were evenings fun.
Our hangout spot: the benches along the mumbai coastline opposite THE INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL. We would sit there for the next two hours, enjoying the cool breeze and watching the upper class of mumbai zoom across in their bmws and audis and hummers. One more thing i noticed was that mumbai was fitness conscious, people jogging and walking(accompanied by their imported pets of course) their way to health.

Dinner was usually at VIHAR, an eatery near THE CRICKET CLUB OF INDIA(CCI) premises that specialises in south indian food. The food there was outstanding, Mumbai's version of our very own RATNA CAFE is my honest opinion.

But unfortunately, our stay in Mumbai was cut short as we lost to PUNJABI UNIVERSITY in the quarterfinals. With just about 4 hours left to catch the train, we rushed off to FASHION STREET, mumbai's version of PONDY BAZAAR. Two hours of high pitched shouting, walk outs and fights(read shopping :P) later, off we went for a plate of pani puri(now that's one thing i would sacrifice anything for, even missing the train :D) and a quick dinner.

With much difficulty, we managed to reach the station on time. More trouble followed as we had booked our tickets through RAC. With only 3 confirmed seats for 6 of us, we did have trouble sleeping but as they say, all's well that ends well.

This tour to mumbai if not successful was definitely memorable. There's one more tour to GOA coming up in march. Will definitely keep u guys updated, until then,

adios!!!!!

P.S. none of the pictures used in this post are mine. i've just googled a few pics and added them, just to add colour to the post.
